Star Trek Federation Computer Now Controls Your Living Room Lighting
Friday, February 26th, 2010 | Uncategorized | Comments Off
Well it can’t be put more simply that groping around in the darkness for a light switch is not a pleasant experience and can sometimes really hurt, but this Star Trek styled, voice activated light switch and dimmer promises to eliminate this problem all together. Because unlike the switches of old you don’t even have to touch the switch, just mumble a few commands to the federation computer and voila! there shall be light.

The Star Trek dimmer gives the user complete control of the lighting in a room by offering three levels of light adjustment that can all be activated by voice command. But the icing on the cake would definitely be that the switch cum dimmer confirms your commands in the voice of Majel Barret- Roddenberry, the original voice of the federation computer; thus giving you a surreal feeling of being aboard the Starship Enterprise. Setting it up is also very easy and the module will even guide you through the setup process.
But if you really want to get into the Star Trek mind-frame try sitting down in Captain Kirk’s chair and then command the dimmer. As for the price $69.99 seams to be a pretty fair deal for the product being offered, and is a must buy for any star trek fan.

GlideTV Navigator Wireless Media Remote Review
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009 | Uncategorized | Comments Off

GlideTV has introduced the new Navigator wireless remote for those geeks who use their computer as their Media outlet and want some additional compatibility in the living room.
After trying the new GlideTV Navigator, we must admit that it was easy to use straight out of the box, rather interactive for a simple one handed controller and also granted a cool hi tech toy in the living room to go with the media tech. It is unfortunate that a keyboard is not included within the package, for it would have allowed a lot further access, but then again, most of those who would use the GlideTV remote already have the wireless computer keyboard at hand.

As soon as I opened the box, the first word that came ot me was…luxury. The packagaing and first impressions of the GlideTV remote were rather high: it looked good, felt light and smooth and along with a comfortable trackpad
(allowing optional absolute tracking for mouse cursor), seemed like it could manage the job well.
The Navigator works with either PC, Mac or even the PS3. After simple configuration, I was ready to try it out, and it was rather intuitive and self-explanatory.

Surrounding the trackpad are the PC power button, volume controls, media player controls, search botton that opens GlideTV’s search for media sites and additions to help move around easily. As soon as it is fired up, you can simply try it from there and notice how simple it is even for those not extremely hi tech oriented. Along with their intuitive software, you can easily open up videos, music, and use their fair and providing menus.
The remote itself is of course wireless and is charged with the docking station included in the box. Unfortunately, the actual docking station is for charging only using AC power, and for the use with the computer (or PS3) a provided USB dongle is granted.

As in power, the remote consists of automatic power saving settings that include going into sleep mode after 10 seconds and also turning completely off if not used for one hour.

Overall, the GlideTV Navigator Media Remote is a simple, handy and fun wireless media remote that would be a great gift for hi tech geeks who love the toys. It does what you rather want it to, but without a keyboard, leaves you at the application’s offering, unless you want to take along time and enter things using the virtual keyboard. Still, it does grant great flexibility, works with Mac, PC and the PS3 and is simply a great looking and miniature toy…and you cannot deny geeks love those kind of Hi Tech toys.
A New Throne for Gaming Geeks: the Gamedock
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 | Uncategorized | Comments Off

The GameDock designed by Richard Nield is a new throne for gaming geeks. It is an all in one package of what gamers really want, and that is complete freedom…freedom from wires, from sitting in one place to play all day long, from not being able to move as quickly as they want to, which definitely destroys the fun of the game.

The GameDock deceptively looks like a cool modern study table, or an equipment that helps you stay fit…but it is in fact the mother of all devices, that allows you to get on board with all possible gaming devices fully loaded, at the same time.
The GameDock is a wireless base, which can be connected to several different gaming devices such as keyboards, mouse and the like. It has a locking mechanism which can be docked into any gaming input device of your choice. Since the GameDock is about giving gamers the ultimate edge in technology and freedom, it is completely adjustable and compatible with all devices.
Take a look at some more pictures and you will definitely be convinced. And if you are looking at more gaming devices, then you should take a look at the gamer phone design and the gameframe digital board game.

Up The Ladder Down The Chord
Tuesday, November 10th, 2009 | Uncategorized | Comments Off
When you’re working on a house or a project that involves ladders, often you’re also working with tools that require you run a chord up there too. Lots of power tools are wireless now, meaning they’ve got battery packs, but there’s still a lot of chords in the world. What do you do to make your time up there with that a lot easier? You clip this lovely baby on up on your belt loop and roll a little bit simpler!
So unless you’re already rolling pretty hard in an Asian country, you don’t know what’s going on here. The prongs on the power cords are circles in places like Isreal, where our amazing designer Rami Tareef is from.
So those 3 holes there? Thats where you plug in.
The bottom of this device? That chord goes down all the way to the wall.
This is basically just an extension chord with a splitter and a belt hoop. Amazing? I think so. These would hella sell if they existed in my city.

Microsoft Courier Tablet PC has Dual Screens
Tuesday, September 29th, 2009 | Uncategorized | Comments Off

Microsoft has unveiled some images and short video (see below) about the upcoming Microsoft Courier Tablet PC, which looks great at first sight, but with no actual specs…don’t fall in love just yet.
So many have been waiting, hoping and wishing that Apple will show and bring out some form of an Apple Tablet, but I guess Microsoft has beat them to the punch with the new and good looking Microsoft Courier Tablet, which immediately takes our breathe away with dual 7″ screens.

Having dual screens actually changes this Microsoft Tablet into a Booklet, even more fun for the masses. Based on its looks and videos, it is multi-touch and is supposed to be used with a stylus for writing and drawing. Right in the middle hinge is a “Home” Button, and on the side rims there is a display of Battery Life and Wireless singals.
An amazing addition that gives a little extra fun is the camera on the back cover, creating a practical tablet that gives a little more.
It has been rumored that it is in final actual design stages and getting really close to “late prototype”. Sounds exciting!
Check out more details and images at Gizmodo, who have shared such exciting news with the rest of us.
