Keep on Workin, Keep on Liftin
Thursday, February 25th, 2010 | Uncategorized | Comments Off
Designer Kimsungi has done it! Finally, my very own lift-me-up system I can roll around myself! This is one of those things I wish for but don’t really expect to reach fruition. The video below shows it in perfect clarity- a few clicks, openings, and closings, and you’ve turned what appeared to be a giant rolling suitcase into your very own lifting work stand!
Get super high on this. Sungi added the brand WORX because it seemed like a rather good fit. I’m sure if you’re a manufacturer of muscle tools like this and would like to have it produced by you instead, you could ask Kim and it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch.
Check out the easy to access plugs: electricity and air- very helpful if you’re using one of those fantastic air-nailers. Love em. Simple-to-use controller accessible by the person being lifted, move back and forth, up and down. Rubber flooring, uneven surface for non-falling action.
Made for simple packing, movement, and help in the works.
I want one! Don’t even do construction work anymore and I’d be apt to purchase.
BONUS: see below for an awesome photo of Kim and a 1/2 scale final mock-up!

16 Anti-Theft Gadgets and Designs to Deter Thieves
Thursday, January 28th, 2010 | Uncategorized | Comments Off
We all own many different cool gadgets and items that are important to us either for the utility they provide or perhaps because of an intimate or personal reason. Whatever the reason is, we really hate it when someone comes and touches our personal belongings and worst yet..steals them.
In order to avoid such mishaps and unfortunate events, we have gathered here a great collection of different Anti Theft Gadgets and Bizarre Designs that are meant to help individuals make their devices and belongings less attractive, appealing or desired to a normal bystander. Moreover, there are a few security gadgets and projects that may also interest the more techy of you, who may be looking for some new gizmos to own or security diy to built.
The following aren’t guaranteed to deter thieves or work colleagues from getting at your gadgets but are meant as an additional things to make them think a second time before getting at your personal stuff.
1. Anti Theft Lunch Bags

These amazing sandwich bags are a sure way to keep any co-workers from getting into your lunch.
As if any introduction is needed, some individuals at work are rude enough to touch, get into or even treat themselves to your lunch. I am not sure what drives these folks into allowing themselves to eat someone else’s food without permission, but unfortunately these few do actually exist.
In order to battle them when you cannot install a video camera inside the refrigerator, these Anti Theft Bags could really do the trick. The Sandwich bags contain green splotch marks on both sides of the bag, so when a sandwich is packed in there, it looks as if it is old and rotten.
The design itself is amazing, but it does have a few possible downfalls such as a different person throwing your lunch in the garbage because of the color, or the coworker decides to take an additional step and investigate your lunch.

Mr T is a Real Killer on Wood Art
Wednesday, January 27th, 2010 | Uncategorized | Comments Off

Born as Laurence Tureaud, Mr T is one of the most eminent American actor famous for his role as B.A. Baracus in 1980s television series named The A-team. He is also famous for his main antagonist role as boxer Clubber lang in the 1982 super hit movie Rocky III (one of my favorite movies) even he was also a professional wrestler until his acting carrier got a kick start in 1980s. He was also famous for his character of Santa Claus with First Lady Nancy Reagan on 1983 Christmas at the White House.
But whatsoever, it’s really difficult to control my laughing at the cartoon of Mr. T made by Xanderthurteen. Its so illustrious starting from his facial expression to his fat nose, pink mouth and the best thing in this photo is his hair style (mohawk I guess) which takes the trophy. A real creative Acrylic painting on wood with a size of 4.7×2.6×1.6made by Xander13. Its a real geeky and hilarious cartoon art made by him for his friend Steve as his birthday gift and I bet Steve would be happy to receive it. But imagine the situation, when Mr.T will see this creativity, must have a good laugh first but if he gets frustrated of then god save xanderthurteen from his fury.
We have seen the famed Mr. T before as well, in things just as funny, such as: the A-Team Perler Bead Art and also the hilarious A-Team Characters from Lego.

Che Stormtrooper Artist Busts: For Those Who Like The Dark Side
Tuesday, January 26th, 2010 | Uncategorized | Comments Off

Urban Medium is back with their CheTrooper line of products for a great combo of Che and the Star Wars Stormtroopers and are just in time for the holidays. The 7 inch bust of Che Guevara with a Stormtrooper mask is made from resin and would be the sort of thing every loyal Star Wars fan wants for himself this Christmas. After all, this may be the season of loving and giving but who says there isnt anything more to fight for?!

Decades after his death, Che Guevara still remains a symbol of rebellion, mostly for teenagers high upon changing the course of the world instantaneously. Che wasnt known for his love of Star Wars (possibly because the movies came after his time) but that doesnt stop faithful fans of The Force attempting to sign him up as a Trooper. And lets face it, the bust looks great! With his flowing locks and starred beret right down to his military uniform, theres no mistake the face behind that Trooper mask.

The CheTrooper Artist Bust is available in the six colors of the rainbow (green looks best, it matches his uniform) for $50. So, isanybody interested in making a CastroTrooper to keep Che Guevara happy?
For other cool Stormtrooper art, check out the Stormtrooper Helmet Papercraft, the Star Wars Stormtroopers Coaster or even the shiny Chrome Stormtrooper Outfit.

Seeing Double

Seeing double, sadly no. In fact, according to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the biggest man-made threat to polar bear survival is climate change. If current warming trends continue unabated, then polar bears could soon be found only in zoos.
Snowy

Look at this adorable fluffy face. Is it any wonder that the polar bear is loved by so many? Clearly, however, it is not loved by enough. Other threats to this species include hunting and the illegal harvest of polar bears.
Is Captivity the Polar Bears Future?

If some of the scientists are correct, polar bears could be extinct by 2050. Although it is truly a delight to watch these great white beasts play in the water or entertain us at the zoo, could this someday be the only place where polar bears survive?
Starving

Polar Bears have sharp, jagged back teeth, and canines that are larger and sharper than grizzly teeth. They swallow their food in large chunks instead of chewing. These large carnivores are sensitive indicators of ecosystem health. But they are starving, some are starving to death.
Headache, Fight, Kiss and Make Up

This mother bear repeatedly denied her cubs the chance to breast-feed. Without food, she cannot make the milk her cubs need. She appears to be holding her head as if she has a headache. And what mother wouldn’t be overwhelmed with worry if she could not feed her children? Even if it is humanizing these beasts, we should identify with some of their actions. They fight. They kiss and make up.

Language of Love: Unique Animal Mating Habits

The classic “boy meets girl” love story is hardly the invention of humans. Just ask our friends in the animal kingdom, who have certainly perfected the art of romance. From the love songs of the Mexican free-tailed bat to the dangerous, seductive dance of redback spiders, the language of love rings loud and clear in the animal world, with the end goal of winning her affection clear but the means not always so.
Humpback Whales: Crooning for Your Love

(Image via: RD)
Apparently, crooning is not just reserved to the Frank Sinatras of the world but is fair game in the animal kingdom for attracting the attention of the fairer sex. Male humpback whales apparently sing, that is bellow noises that sound like hums, whups and chirps, to seduce females and claim their territory. Especially interesting is the recent finding that these male whales will change their tunes in response to other whale songs, as if theyre trying to one up each other. Humpback competition is not just limited to singing; when interested in a female, three to eight males will surround the object of affection and fight for the closest positioning to the girl of their dreams.
Giant Pandas: Secret Love Letters

(Images via: My Net Bizz, Flickr, Japan Probe)
Humpback whales are not the only animals with their own language of love. According to recent research, male giant pandas blurt out a variety of sounds (such as barks, moans, honks, growls, roars and squeals) when looking for a partner during mating season. One particularly prevalent sound (the bleat) was recently decoded by researchers as a cue to the female about the size of the male giant panda. Female giant pandas also respond with their own sounds (chirps, snorts and chomps) that convey information about their ages. Also cool were the findings that the male pandas prefer older females to mate with based on their experience, and that boy and girl giant pandas have distinctive masculine and feminine voices.
